The Bird & Bottle Inn

This is one case study we were anxious to include. It is a classic example of how the look and feel and some simple functionality can change perceptions, facilitate response and ultimately bring in substantial returns on your investment in website design and development.Our client has a wonderful place to have dinner, stay overnight, or host a special occasion like a wedding. They had a website online for a couple of years and the traffic was a respectible 80 visitors or so per day. They were somewhat skeptical of how a change would make a difference, which we hear from many redesign cients- they have had no response from a website and they assume this is just how it goes. So they presume that the website has no real value. We were happy to be part of that transformation.As you browse these few before and after images, it is obvious what we did visually, but what you don't see is the Content Management System we have in place. Menus, Events, and most content on the site is controlled by an administrative backend where it is simple to make changes and add content. Part of the simple yet fundamental coding we added to the site was a contact form. It has proven to be a valuable tool.The happy ending to this story is the visitor responses upon the publication of the redesigned site. It was almost immediate. Only a few days upon putting the new site online, our client was surprised to begin getting not only phone calls but e-mails inquiring about all they offered. Weddings, lodging, dinner- every aspect of what the Bird & Bottle Inn is about is now accurately portrayed online and a good bit of the traffic that was once just passing by is now stopping in for a visit.This site was also in collaboration with The Gold Standard, who provided project management, planning, writing, and a lot of common sense. We also provided some location photography, something we love to do when locations permit.
